- Instead of hacking your Finder, use Anti-Finder 1.0.1. Anti-Finder is a
- teeny-weeny application that causes the Finder to quit when you run it, and
- restarts the Finder when you quit it. Possible uses for this are few, but
- include freeing up a few hundred K of memory, temporarily removing the
- "feature" that clicking on the desktop brings the Finder forward,
- child-proofing a Mac, keeping that favorite lab machine "broken" so you can
- use it, etc. This version maneuvers around a bug in the System that causes
- a crash when no applications are running.
-
-
- It is also quite small, so you can fit over 450 copies on a single high
- density floppy...
-
- Contrary to popular belief, launching the Finder with some other utility
- while Anti-Finder is running will _NOT_ cause your Mac to disappear.
-
- System 7.0 or greater and also free.
